Kay/O even after his buffs has barely improved in win rate even after 2 months. The buffs only improved what he was doing before in his flash and the ult change is a decent buff when he gets downed on site but he still has a lot of weaknesses.
Suppression is imo the weakest cc in the game. It doesn't make a gun less effective and is something that naturally gets weaker throughout the round due to people having less and less utility. When i throw my knife im not thinking about the suppression im thinking about the info it gives. This is because if you use if like an early dart or bird 1. if you hit people at the beginning of round it is very likely you get a lot of the team so you cant peak off that info without just getting gunned down 2. Your team is not in range to follow up on suppression which only makes taking out the enemy slightly easier but still harder than killing a blind team or a stunned team. Also suppression is very hard to gauge how much it actually helped. When you flash for a teammate they can say they won that because the enemy was flashed but if you suppress an enemy its very hard to say if a teammate won that because they were suppressed. It sort of like stim beacon where its hard to tell if you won that because you were stimmed.
Kay/o also only has 1 way of getting info in the form of his knife. When comparing him to other top tier initiators in the form of sova and skye they have 3 ways of getting info compared to 1. The info you get from knife might be better than a skye bird but as a kit his info is still worse with breach being the worst due to having no info. The purpose of kay/os molly is to clear corners but sova and skye can clear spots like hooka ,site, and multiple cubbies with 1 ability and kay/o cannot simply compete with the ease of clearing they have. Kay/o as an agent encourages a brute force hitting the enemy as hard as possible play style while skye and sova can slowly take apart a site with the info they provide.
Other weakness of kay/o is that compared to other mollies his is probably the worst due to have a short duration, working only in los, and slow projectile speed compared to the rest of his kit. His ult isnt a game changer either when comparing other ults of the same price point. Viper gains complete site control with her ult, jett gets a free gun that is one of the best weapons in the game, killjoy can force the other team to play retake and give up site, and skye can find 3 players on the map and can bait her ult to trade with. The only thing kay/o brings with his ult is suppression and the worst res in the game and slight fire rate buff.
Buff ideas:
NULL/CMD
-if kay/o gets a kill while ulted he extends the duration of the ult by 4 seconds and gains other pulse of his ultimate
-if an enemy is suppressed 2 or 3 times by his ult they are revealed like cypher using his ult and this effect can repeat if the enemy continues to be suppressed
Reason: His ult is very short and this would massively improve his site taking
ZERO/POINT
-enemies tagged by this ability are briefly shown like a cypher cam tag
Reason: His knife is already kind of a worse sova dart so this gives him slightly more info at the exchange of it being worse info but still going through walls and having that suppression
FRAG/MENT
-Doesn't require los
Reason: Makes the ability more consistent with other mollies
