Am I the only one that thinks this is a terrible idea? Why remove any map at all, on the grounds of learned to mastery (referencing their update notes,) we all have had plenty of time to practice split and there is always custom games or unrated to practice any new or old map.. Not to mention how they do the new map queue which should be more than enough time to adapt to a map. I think limiting the map pool is going to make this game stale for me as someone who has played since day 1.
Now maybe I hold the unpopular opinion, maybe not, but I feel that as humans one of our strong points is adaptability. So why are we not taking that into consideration at all when dealing with competitive games?
The point isn't to limit a game enough until you're good, that's not real skill in my eyes. Real skill, in my opinion, is being able to adapt to new environments and changes while in a competitive setting. I think our current speed of maps being released is fine, and that the map pool should not be limited in any game mode to just 7 maps, and especially if it's only for tournaments. If that's how they want their tournaments played then limit the pool ONLY FOR TOURNAMENTS. Leave my beautiful competitive mode alone in your limitations to map rotation.
Anyway I'm interested in your opinions.
Edit: I understand how a map rotation itseld isn't bad, I just believe there are better systems we can use, or even a altered version of map rotation could be introduced. However even with a map rotation I believe 7 maps is way too few.
