New to Val - Having a terrible experience

Hello everyone,

I’m hoping to get some feedback from other members of the Val community. I just started playing a few days ago, probably played about 7 or 8 games total over the course of 2-3 days.

The problem I’m having is I’m only level 4, but I get matched with people who are level 60+ on average every game. I’m not new to FPS, but I never played CSGO and it’s an adjustment to get used to the play style (crouching when shooting, not using ADS, not moving when shooting).

I’m not complaining about the learning curve or the mechanics of the game - I’m just frustrated with the matchmaking and the community.

Everyone can see I’m a low level, and they absolutely flame me and are so toxic when I do poorly. I’m just playing unranked normal spike matches to try and learn the game, so I’m not sure why people are getting so angry. It’s not like I’m affecting their rank.

After they flame me for a good 10 rounds or so, they start team killing me which I didn’t even know was possible. A Phoenix killed me with some fire grenade or something and in different games people were trapping me in corners or following me around shooting to reveal my position.

I’m no stranger to people being toxic or trolling in games after playing league, but is it always like this?? I quit playing league a couple years ago due to this, and I’m not sure I really want to play Val if it’s the same.

It seems like a fun game, but right now it seems like it isn’t worth dealing with the other stuff that comes along with it.

Also I expect trolls in the comments with a post like this, but I do appreciate those of you willing to give genuine feedback.
