Backstory: I have never taken this game too seriously when it comes to grinding ranked. I have played every act since beta and only played 10-20 games to get to plat 1 after being placed gold2/gold3 ish every season just for the gun buddy then I stop playing ranked. This is the first act/episode where I have actually tried to grind ranked games to improve. I'm not some cracked Jett or Reyna insta lock that carries games. My aim is pretty mediocre so the way I get Plat 1 every act is by locking Skye/Sova/Kayo/smokes every game to give info/shot call for the cracked 14 year old kids on my team with the occasional Fortnite Sage pick on maps like Icebox and Haven and I usually win most games around gold 3 elo with KD's like 15/15... never top frag but never bottom frag.

Experience in Plat lobbies: After about 70 ranked games this act I am hovering around plat1/plat 2 just ranking up and deranking not moving anywhere. Platinum ranked lobbies are a wild waste land where your only option is one tap or get one tapped. I would say my average KD in plat is 10 ish kills and around 20 deaths I always go insanely negative. Every team is comprised of 3 players like me going super negative KD and then 2 insta lock duelists that are currently "plat" but always have diamond/immortal gun buddy's from last act/episode that drop 30 kills. Every game feels like a coin flip where we just spectate (because I'm always dead) to see which team got lucky with the better ex Immortal Reyna player that's gonna 1v5 each round.

The skill gap between players like me and the top fraggers in "plat elo" is actually the craziest thing I've ever seen in any competitive game ever. Lobbies feel like they are comprised of players that got lucky getting carried and should actually be hardstuck gold or players that should/have been diamond/immortal but have deranked to plat for some reason? Just wanted to see if any of you guys share the same opinion or if I'm just trash and don't deserve to be at the rank I've been at.
