Hello
Alright so this is a pretty steep hill to climb but I would like to play Valorant despite my vision. I'm hoping with the hive mind of Reddit I can make this work and find a way to do okay in Valiant. I personally just find enjoyment in learning about the game and finding neat ways to adapt despite my vision in doing things and this is another challenge I see to overcome. I know walls and an aim bot would probably help (though not really) but that is unfair and ingenuine. I plan to try out your ideas and let you know how it's going and maybe we can find a way and have fun.
What were dealing with
So looking directly at your mouse. That's your central vision. If you have your hand out to the left and right while looking at the mouse. That's your peripheral vision. My central vision is knocked out, so imagine black and just using your peripheral.
Things I have tried so far and found out... (I am new so I maybe just showing I'm more of a noob)
Buying a larger monitor. (40 in. widescreen) - So much more useful to see since your peripheral vision is not as good as central vision.
Going an initiator like Breach and Kayo - I use the blinds to give myself an advantage in fights and works pretty well since I have a few more seconds to get my crosshair on the target
PlayingSova and recon/shock lineups - I have noticed that this is a role I can do alright in. I do run into issues when it comes to gunfights since I have noticed I am usually taking farther engagements.
Playing Brimstone - I have noticed that I can put down the smokes to help us gain map control; Been spending some time learning about game flow and positioning.
Shotguns/Playing around corners - Been able to top frag with this but I notice it goes downhill on attack cus they aren't coming to me.
LMGs - Noticed that wall banging with a sofa and arise is really useful in holding sites.
Marshal and oping - Yeah. I thought that if I can zoom then it will be much easier to see. I can land body shots quite well like this but I feel like you need headshots to make the marshal useful.
A lot of aim practice - Still doing this with the practice bots in the range. Doing a little bit of counter-strafing as reps of eliminating 50 bots. Practicing only to take headshots; I run into issues with strafing bots but I feel that over time it will be better. Oh also practicing crosshair placement
Crosshair - Tried out a lot. Cyanide seems to be the best color since it's easier to see. Found a dot to be optimal with an outline so far. Also increased the size so I can find it faster.
THANK YOU FOR READING THIS IT IS A LONG POST. IF I SAY SOMETHING THAT'S WRONG PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POINT IT OUT. I'LL TRY TO ACTIVELY READ THE COMMENTS AND TRY WHAT YOU GUYS RECOMMEND AND GIVE SOME FEEDBACK ON THE PROGRESS.
