Please do not add Deathmatch winners and beg for a carry

Context: I'm Immortal 3, got a random friend request from a Gold 3.

He messaged me and asked if I had a Gold smurf. I said no, and even if I did I wouldn't carry him anyway. He got very angry at me and complained about all the smurfs he encounters in his games. I tried explaining to him that carrying him will not make him better, and if he wants to combat the smurfs, he needs to change his mindset. Don't think about the smurf, consider him as a player that happens to be playing very well. The more you blame the smurf and give up round 5 the more you're going to lose.

"But you don't know what it's like. You're already a high rated player. There's no smurfs in your games"

I do. I played 3000 hours of Counter Strike where smurfs and hackers run rampant. I started in the second lowest rank of that game and climbed to the second highest, and the biggest reason I did it was because of my mindset.

"But I can't out aim Radiant smurfs"

Not with that mindset. Instead of rage dueling the smurf, focus on outplaying him. Use your utility to your advantage. Try to never take a fair gun fight.

If someone is playing very well on the other team, never call them out for smurfing. If they aren't smurfing, you're giving him the confidence to just play better. Focus on yourself, focus on things that you can improve on. Don't focus on the enemy's kills. I do not condone smurfing, and I do feel for the lower ranked players who experience it often, but we've all been there. Don't get tilted, keep your cool and eventually you'll get better and rank up. Remember this game is a mental game too, and when your mental state suffers, your aim and decision making does too.

Keep grinding and don't give up friends
