I've been playing shooters for over 10 years, starting with cs and moving onto csgo. I switched over to valorant when it was released. I am lucky enough to have a great career that only makes me work about 30 hours a week with a wonderful fiance who also games. I have the ability to game up to 20-30 hours a week, which is what has always been my hobby as I don't drink or go out too much other than to exercise or go to work.
That being said, I am 27 and have always been a silver player. I watch guides, I use aimlabs, I listen to call outs, use comms, use econ properly, and I do have some really really good games sometimes where I can drop 30 kills in ranked. But I cannot and have never for the life of me been able to climb. I just can't seem to go past silver. I seriously don't know how to improve. My little brother got his first computer a year ago and he's 20. He's already diamond 2 in valorant with no prior mouse gameplay before this. But I've been playing for over 10 years and still can't get up in ranked. I'm generally not bottom fragging but I admit I have bad games. I watch so many guides and try to improve every game. I never rage at teammates and I always listen to tips from higher ranked players hoping it helps me improve.
I am very good at all other games, including mobas where I peaked at high diamond in League of Legends 3 years ago. But shooters have always been my passion even though it is by far the game I am the worst at.
But even with my time investment over the years and my dedication, I just dont get better. Please, please help me improve. How the hell do I get better??? Am I skill-capped??
