Couldnt see it was posted here before. Just in case anybody gets their hopes up, meeting somebody from riot in game does not mean you just automatically get a buddy. Just experienced it myself and was told they cant give it out to anybody they play with.

Edit: Basically. Dont get angry with an employee just because they dont give you a buddy, they literally dont have the power to grant it to everybody they see
