Reaching immortal with 50 year old Dad gamer

Hey guys, so we have finally hit ascendant 3 as a duo. I mainly play duelist because my son is dogshit at taking fights. Any tips for a duo to make the final climb to immortal?

How close do you play on 24" FullHD?

I am finding it impossible to play at less then 60 cm and I know 90 is the optimal but heads seem so small far away.
