I redesigned the Remake Vote based on all the reddit threads on here expressing concern about the whole remake process. The most popular concerns being:
- The UI looks too similar to a surrender vote
- People don't know what a remake is or what it does
- The window to initiate a remake vote is too short
Here are the intentional design decisions I made:
- The vote is automatically initiated center-screen and the game is paused (similar to an overtime vote)
- An explanation of what choosing 'Remake' entails and what choosing 'Continue' entails is included to educate players
- People's usernames are shown (i.e. the vote is not anonymous). This is an interesting one. After reading a few studies on anonymity and deindividuation, I considered it might actually bring a bit of self-awareness back - resulting in a conscious decision and perhaps (ironically) less toxicity.
Let me know your thoughts! Open to (constructive) feedback!
