good examples are the recent bundles, crimson dragon and the soulstrife. they cost the same as reaver, but are absolute shit compared to it, both lack variants and soundeffects, they only have 1 shitty kill animation and thats it, also the reaver 2.0 and ion knives cost more than the rest of the bundle.
riot is obviously doing this to make people get used to it and charge 2175 for all the new skins that have upgrades and variants, everyone will feel thankful for finally getting "quality" skins and will drop money on them easier.
we will probably never see skins with that much features for 1775 again sadly.
like if skins weren't disgustingly expensive already lol
