I've noticed a trend where the Surrender option (/ff) is started as soon as it's available because the game doesn't look like its going well for one team early on. Almost as a "gg, go next." option to some players. I think the reason this happens is due to how a player feels the team's performance is in-game, but that's not a team agreement to surrender. It can also be used jokingly, after a lost round in a "clutch-or-kick" scenario. Seeing these uses make me wonder how often players use the /ff option during each of their games, and if the same player used it enough could it be temporarily turned off for them?
It becomes wasteful to start a surrender if it's not needed (when it could be used later), and if you decide to surrender you'd lose the number of rounds you would have lost if you went 13-[whatever you surrendered at]. It's not a cheaper RR route to getting into the next game, you'll cost yourself (and your team).
The winning team gets round win credit for every round necessary to bring them up to the victory condition (13 rounds). The surrendering team will get loss credit for every round necessary to bring them up to 13 rounds
