I get that It's not too far off, but in my most recent game I went up against 3 gold 3 players and almost everyone gold 2, is this so riot can somehow valuate if I really deserve gold or is the matchmaking just putting me up against golds because of some other reason?

Am I a jerk for not wanting to knife fight in ranked?
The title pretty much says it all.
Knife fighting does not interest me at all so when people ask to I say no and people generally respond...in not so nice ways.
