I'm in diamond 2 currently and there are smurfs in almost all my games. Sometimes they're on my team, sometimes the other team, sometimes on both teams. The issue is that these players ruin ranked lobbies by either throwing or being above the skill level of that lobby. They also tend to not care about working with the team or picking agents that fit the team comp which puts the team at a disadvantage in that regard. The amount of people I have had throw or AFK in my diamond lobbies is honestly astounding considering that I assumed there would be less smurfs in this elo. I know it has been said many times on this sub, but Riot needs to do something about smurfing. CS:GO's system, while imperfect, does deter a large portion of players from smurfing and imo is not as easy to get around the phone number verification as some people make it out to be. The very least they could do is make the level for playing ranked ~20 as most are not interested in having to level up a second account to smurf. It wouldn't be as big of an issue if these smurfs weren't in almost all of my games, and quite frankly it seems like Riot does not care about the issue.
