I've dropped from G2 to S2 in the space of about 1 week. I've been on a terrible run of games. My last 15 games are 2 wins, 2 draws and 11 losses. The wins are 13-10 and 13-11 and along with the 2 draws I'm lucky that I don't have 15 losses straight.

What I have come to realise though is that the lower I fall, I'm only struggling to kill the smurf players on the other team - the people going 30.10. But when I play games that don't have a guy on the other team insta HS every peek and getting the 30.10, I am the one who gets the 30.10 because I'm playing against true people of that rank, and being as high as G2, most of these guys are no match for me.

I played one game with Raze where I ran onto A site on Bind and ran around and killed their entire team on my own before my team mates even made it onto site, satcheled up to Heaven and killed someone there, ran down to their spawn and killed another. I killed 4 and 1 assist of 117 because one of my team mates stole the very last kill as I was shooting the guy. no shiftwalking.. just sprinted from round start onto site and demolished their whole team.

I felt pretty comfortable in Gold. I was there for a while and I think that is probably my skill level at the moment. But having a run of every game seemingly having 4 and 5 stacks with smurfs has pushed me right down.

I have figured out it's because of a few things... where I am in Australia, we had a long weekend that went for 4 days 1 week ago, and it's also 2 weeks of school holidays, and I played a lot this weekend just gone. So my guess is that there are more people partying up than normal, because they are not at work/school and have the time on their hands to meet for stacked games.

So my advice is that if you solo Q and want to avoid smurf stacks... avoid weekends and public holidays.

Update - 1 game off deranking to Silver 1 now, because a guy in the only game I have played today decided to throw the match from the start! This game's competitive is awesome. Best competitive game I have ever played. I actually just left the match because I couldn't sit there enduring that garbage and I get a 1 hour afk ban lol, while I report the guy throwing and sure enough he will get no penalty at all. This game is an absolute joke.
