So many people still do not know how to play Sage.

I got bored during my lecture so I'm making this post as someone who played Sage since Beta. (OTP my way to Diamond)

Sage is one of the most powerful agents in the game, and in maps like Bind and Split, she is the most powerful sentinel. So many Sage players just do not understand nor do they take advantage of her abilities. Here is some advice that will make your life so much easier and win you games without the tip "Aim Better.".

Wall Placement.

Sage wall is extremely powerful to manipulate your enemy. Her wall is not 100% there to block enemies off. It is there to deter from entering site but it is also a great way to force a choke point, while creating more angles for the enemy to peak. Place your wall down and play close and unpredictably. Having a teammate bait the enemy's focus could give you multiple picks. If the enemy breaks the wall, put down a slow. If they continue to push through, you will see them before they see you. Your wall lasts about 40 seconds, so if you wall off one entry point and watch the other, you can solo hold a site, leaving your teammates with what is likely a numbers advantage. On save rounds, buy a shotgun and play on top of your walls. It usually will get you a pick, a numbers advantage, as well as a gun. Place your walls diagonally, it forces them to spend more time and bullets and is a distraction while creating a much tighter choke point.

TL;DR Walls are to manipulate your enemy's positioning to gain an advantage. Place your walls diagonally to force them to break more walls as well. Use it to slow down flanks or site entry.

Slow Orbs.

This ability is really simple. You throw a ball and wherever it lands, it creates an area where an enemy is slowed. Use it to slow an enemy push or prevent a peek, because if your enemy peeks through a slow, you will see their shoulders before you see them. This ability is very underused, and many just do not know how to play against it. This ability is one of the best bang-for-buck ability in the game. And do not forget that this ability bounces off of all walls until it lands on a horizontal surface. Because of this, you don't even have to put yourself in danger to slow down people.

TL;DR Use your slows. The slow prevents peeks and slows down rushes. Bounce it off of walls so you don't put yourself in danger.

Heals.

Sage's heal only heals for 60hp (I think, I'm too lazy to check, anyways, it's less than half of HP+Heavy Armour). Heal people who can put it to good use. I recommend healing those who have somewhere between 20-60HP. Heal whoever needs it, but preferably someone who peeks first and actually gets frags. Do not be afraid to heal yourself over your allies if you have less health than them, because your teammates can wait. There isn't much else to say about it, really.

TL;DR Heal whoever the hell you want including yourself, no one else on your team is playing Sage so 💅

Revive

Doesn't matter if your 5 year old bottom frag is screaming at you, you do not have to Revive every single round you have it. If you're on a save round and at a numbers disadvantage, don't take the gamble. If your numbers are even and you have guns, play it safe and revive. Try to avoid wasting your wall just for a revive, but if you are down a player, it should be fine. Consider the utilities of the person you're reviving alongside their fragging abilities. For example, revive a Killjoy with ult over a Phoenix without anything.

TL;DR Like heal, revive whoever you want, but avoid risky baits and ignore screaming babies asking for revives.

If you play Sage, play for the team, not to please people. You are the one playing Sage, you know how to play her better than your duelist child. You are way more useful and flexible. It is way better to play around Sage than to play around a duelist. Idk that was all I could come up with during this lecture, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Sage is awesome. bye.

P.S. Battle Sage is not the best way to win a game, but sometimes when the situation calls for it, it can work for a couple rounds here and there to throw off the enemy.
