- Confidence - Have confidence going into a competitive match. Don't go taking duels while thinking you're probably going to lose it. If you do, you're probably going to lose the duel.
- Warm Up/Aim Training - We all want to hop right into competitive without warm up but that's what held me back in Platinum & Gold. My Aim routine in Aimlabs was "Six Shot". Try setting a score for the exercise you use to warm up before hopping into a competitive game or deathmatch. Something like a score of 80,000 on Six Shot.
- Toxicity - If a teammate is only being toxic and is not giving any callouts just mute them. It won't help your game if your teammate is just toxic.
- Communication - Give callouts and communicate with your team. Even if no one is talking just do it because not giving any calls will likely only negatively impact the team. Communicate even if people on your team are toxic and you have them muted.
- Leaderboard - Only look at the leaderboard to see the economy of the enemy & their ultimate status. Don't look at the other stats. Just don't.
- Arguments - Arguing won't help with winning the match. Try to deescalate any argument.
- Overtime - Going into overtime can be stressful if you think about it. Just don't.
- Bad Games/Days - Having bad games can really ruin your mentality. Just take a break and do something else until you feel like you reset.
- Agent Select - Don't instantly lock in an agent. Just hover over an agent you want to play otherwise someone on the team might be forced to play a agent they aren't comfortable with.
- Mentality - Even if the score is 1-11 and the enemy team is trash talking just know that it's still winnable. Win some, lose some.
- Have Fun - Try to have some fun in Competitive. It's a much more enjoyable experience to have good vibes in a team even if you're getting stomped.
Summary: Have confidence, warm up, handle toxicity, communicate, deescalate arguments, have fun. Also get lucky and hope that you get decent teammates.
