Does anyone feel like SoloQ feels more rewarding and feels more like validation for ones own skills than playing in a team with people you know are good?I'm not talking about getting boosted. Let's just say you always befriend the top player of your games and after a while, you always play with 2-3 of these good players and you win 75%-80% of games. After a while, you rank up and rank up even more but is that really you?
I mean winning feels nice and all but if I would imagine playing with a certain team or with a bunch of good players all the time, I would not feel like I deserve ranking up. I would not feel like I'm really on the level of the other players with that rank and I would not feel like I could stand my ground in soloQ anymore after ranking up a few times because I won with a certain group of people. After winning a grouped game, I feel like: Nice... points!
SoloQ is the other side of the spectrum where sometimes you have to play above your rank to carry a bad team and rank up but then you can be sure that you really are on the same level as the other players in that rank.Only in soloQ I feel like I deserve the ranking up and that I progress because of my own progress in skill. After winning a soloQ game I feel like: Nice, we did it! ... and nice, points!
That being said, I feel like a person that got into any rank with a group, vs. a soloQ player in the same rank, the pre grouped player will have less skill.
A rank icon means nothing if your actual skill is below what that icon represents.
These are my thoughts because I'm thinking about starting a little group of people to play with, maybe even try out some tactics and shit. But every time I think about finding a group of people to progress with, I feel like that team would only win because of good tactics and because we kinda carry each other. On our own, in soloQ we would just sink.
What are your thoughts on the matter?
