Basically, after reading a lot of comments on this subreddit about the proposed new cascading system for the agent select, these are the main complaints:
- People will throw if they don't get their preferred agent
- People shouldn't be forced onto an agent they don't want to play
- Insta locks will just pick another duelist
Let's address the first, so people will throw if they don't get their agent. What is the difference then when someone "steals" their character first in the current system? God forbid your agent gets selected by someone else first, just dodge if you can't handle it. If they were going to throw if they didn't get their agent what makes the cascading system any different from someone who has better internet than them.
People shouldn't be forced onto agents they don't want to play. I think this is fair, but you're also forcing someone else to fill that role right? So you don't want someone to learn other agents in a pool of 20, or maybe another type of agent (smokes). If you don't want someone to be forced onto it then why not force yourself to do it, if you think about other people's feelings that much.
Insta locks will just pick another duelist. Sure go ahead pick another duelist to add the other 4 duelists in the team. At the end of the day, if you can with that 5 stack duelists good for you, but if you can't then learn to be another agent.
All in all, we all want to win and increase our ranks, but this is a team game where you need coordination to win (most of the time) unless you can just stomp anyone with your aim (then you don't need to insta lock jett if you're that good imo :) ). No one can force you to anything you don't want to but that helps no one, not even yourself.
Just my 2 cents lmao
EDIT: Also you could talk to your team if you really really really want to play as a specific agent. That’s why there’s voice comms and they don’t necessarily have to pick on their turn from what the devs said in the video. :)
