The fact that shroud is pulling 3x the viewership than the official VCT channel is a HUGE problem with Riot's production.

Before you read this - just watch this clip of Anders and Semmler and Moses. This is what the casting of VCT could look like. If you watched VCT at all, you'll now realize how absolutely boring it is.

This post has nothing to do with shroud's watch parties - it has to do with the poor casting quality of the tournament. In my opinion, people flock to Shroud's stream because his and Just9n's commentary is interesting. We get to hear the perspective of ex-Pros on the plays being made.

The play-by-play casting is just incredibly boring - no hype is ever built, and I feel almost no tension built during big plays.

The color casting is usually equally mediocre. Mid-round analysis is rarely below surface level, and the level of game expertise is glaringly low from the color casters. The only color-casting worth noting imo is Sean Gares' - he actually brings out non-obvious ideas and strategies on the fly and it makes the game watchable. Thank you Sean for being an absolute champ.

This post isn't to hate on the current casting personalities - you guys are all giving it your best and I just want this to be constructive criticism. Also a shoutout to the NerdStGamers production - I enjoyed their casting personalities and they've done a great job.

Riot - We need more hype on the play-by-plays, and more expertise on the color casting. Bring in Sean, bring in other pros/ex-IGLs for color, and bigger hype personalities like Anders/Semmler, because it's really a drag to watch without the hype or expert opinion. Obviously, those two are a legendary duo and there are few like them, but damn - I feel like I'm watching golf right now.

This scene needs something like Anders/Semmler to cast matches. I mean honestly, where the hell is the hype at? The current casting lineup feels like rigor mortis after watching how much hype and enthusiasm those two were able to bring to CS:GO.
