Being a Competitive FPS Player for Years on End (Looking at 5,000 Hours in CSGO and playing Beta in Valorant on) I’ve learned that mechanics of the game are impactful. You can have raw aim and the mechanics of jiggle peeking players and getting the picks for your team, even being top frag. However, you may still lose, asking yourself how?
Team Mates make up a majority of how your game plays out, and sometimes they may not play as well as you, or even throw if they’re having a bad day. I’ve seen ALMOST everything happen throughout the years (Because let’s be real, we have not experienced everything, none of us)
Let me ask - How do you respond? Do you call them out and give them advice? Do you flame them for their death or mistake? Or do you not say anything at all?
Sometimes reassuring team mates that we’re human and we make mistakes is the best way to go! You tell them that everybody makes a mistake every now and again and you don’t flame them. It’s a mistake, even pros make mistakes.
I’m telling you this because it does make a difference on how they feel for the rest of the game. You may have players who play worse after you flame them. Sometimes they need a little positivity to get that one pick to win the game or round.
So to my fellow Valorant Players, please remember that holding a high head and responding positively can change things for the better. What happened to telling your team mates mistakes are okay? People can and will play their best in competitive, but flaming them will not help them improve.
If you want a come back to happen, make it happen with good words and thoughts, even throw positive suggestions if need be! It will make all the difference.
Signed, Some Kind Player
