To me that's a change for the worse.

If I did well, I liked being one of the only two people featured on the MVP screen, and I really liked that it was sort of a final face-off between the top players of each team. For example, if you lost the match narrowly, but won the MVP, it was a slight consolation and a reinforcement that it was a good, close match, or that you really tried your best to win and the game recognized that. It was also one more little incentive to try harder to score because there can only be one from each team on the final screen. I will be mourning this change.
