Posting this because I've seen so many people complaining about their ranks after placements this episode, including some friends. Here's my take.

For some context, I just barely hit Gold 1 last act and placed Silver 1 after my placements this episode. In my 3rd or 4th placement game, there was a Plat 3 on the other team. So like any hard-stuck silver/gold players, me and the boys got a bit panicky and started whining about why on earth there was a plat on the other team. To cut a long story short, we ended up winning 7-2 after they surrendered.

The games that followed had a similar mix of players, silvers - platinums. But the games felt strangely balanced, no one was dropping 30+ and no one had like -1 game sense and aim. And just today, me and the boys played against a bottom-fragging diamond(banner, gun buddy and everything) reyna who we completely ran over.

In conclusion, I think the ranked reset will do everything it's supposed to. Weeding out boosted players and pushing up players that deserve a higher rank( since they get to play with higher-ranked players and climb alongside that skill level). So shoutout to the devs for sticking it out even with the backlash and good luck to everyone grinding ranked this episode. Peace!
