Just thought I'd throw my two cents in here.
Pretty much, I solo queued using only Astra to Immortal. I came from overwatch, so I had some fps experience prior, but when I say this agent is literally broken, I mean it in the Brig GOAT meta sense (sorry for PTSD for any old OW players out there).
What I mean is, she fundamentally changes the way Valorant is played. At pretty much any level, if you understand how to actually play Astra, and the enemy team does not have one, they're almost guaranteed to lose.
I say this because she is an agent who:
- Has the best / arguably most useful smokes in the game.
- Has global utility, meaning her presence can be felt throughout the entire map.
- Can lock down a site like a sentinel with her ability to slow pushes.
- Can act as an initiator using her abilities as "mollies" to set duelists up for site exec's (while also providing default smokes as well).
- Is possibly the best lurk in the game due to having access to her abilities from anywhere on the map...
- Can condition opponents by faking sites by herself, and can "duelist" aggro peek using her own fake smokes.
I can literally go on, but it's clear to me as someone with over 500 hrs on the agent, she's not playing by the same rules as the rest of the cast.
It worries me because this is the same thing that happened in Overwatch. I know, s0mcs saying ooooverwatch is a meme, but Astra is incredibly reminiscent of many meta defining OP heroes that have effectively "ruined" that game.
Baptiste immortality field, Brig's healing output/bash and whip, and shitty heal orbs essentially killed the last game I loved. I think it's time the community and the devs take a real look at Astra, her power level, and whether or not they want the game to head further towards an ability driven meta.

After losing my job, i decided to make a YT channel. I'm still a beginner in editing and have some experience in gaming. This is my first real clip of my gameplay. Lemme know what you guys think. Thanks.
