Me personally I think the ranked system although isn't perfect, it's pretty good at knowing where you belong. It does heavily favor duo queues, if you cant get to a rank with duo queueing, you don't belong there at all. Solo queue although much harder it's still very much possible. Credit where credit is due, the ranked system isn't bad.
