Despite the claims, it's no secret that high ping differences lead to unfair advantages in Valorant. It creates a dynamic where the higher the ping, the more the one who peeks has advantage. It breaks a lot of fundamental concepts of competitive shooters.
For casual play, it's completely okay. But when it comes to competitive matches - especially at the highest ranks - this change of dynamic ruins the experience, and at that level, people who queue with pings in ranges that create those advantages are *well aware* of it and exploit it as much as possible, sometimes even to boost accounts outside their own region. Not only is it flipping the fights upside down, at that level, it's also harming competitive integrity, which I believe is a value that Riot has worked hard to protect and uphold (with a lot of success thus far). I think it's only fair to expect high quality matches with teammates and opponents that play by the same rules when I queue in competitive matchmaking.
There needs to be a way to account for this. Either server restrictions in competitive play based on ping, a tweak to the matchmaking system that considers ping similarity as a criteria, or any other change the developers see fit.
