So I've been playing this game since the beta and there's a glaring amount of basic stuff that people need to hear:
- There's an attacking side and a defending side. There's one objective on attacking side: Plant the damn spike. That means not throwing away in spawn, not let it sit and stew on mid, dont run around with it if youre not planning on actually visiting A, B or C.
1,5. Attack as a team. There's max 3 players on one site at a time, unless there's an unique situation. That means that going together gives you a two player advantage. That is good.
-
The Operator costs 5000. It's also a one shot kill. It's also really useful. If you see it on the ground after the round is over, just pick it up.
-
Just because one person shoots on A, that doesnt mean that they're 100% going there. Leave one guy until you get more convincing info, as an anchor.
-
Different agents have different abilities. If you pick Phoenix, Jett, Reyna or any other agent that has abilities centered around him- or herself, youre expected to go in first. This is especially true of Jett and Phoenix, who has quick smokes and popflashes respectively.
-
Look at your teams economy as a whole. If you can buy yourself a rifle and full armor that's cool, but it's not cool if youre the only one. Never is it better for one to be decked out whilst the others are barely scraping by. Save one round.
-
Youre never gonna rank up with eliminations only, so might as well try to win rounds. Dont go off on your own just so you can get your single kill whilst the rest of your team is dying on the other side of the map. If youre gonna go A whilst 4 others are going B, have some purpose to it.
-
Sage cant heal immediatly all the time
-
If your teammate is shifting in front of you, that probably means that you should shift too. If you glance up in the left corner of your screen youre gonna see a giant circle around you. That's the area where your enemy can hear your movement. Take that into consideration.
-
On the topic of that thing in the top left. It's really useful. Your teammates positions are there, as well as where they're looking. Consider where you and your teammates are looking, because nothing is better than having all angles covered, rather than two people watching a single gap.
-
I cant reiterate this enough: No backseat gaming. If youre dead and spectating someone, dont tell them where to move or what to do. People need to play a situation out in their own way so they can develop as players. This also means that if youre dead, you shut up. Use text chat if you have anything useful to say. Because your teammates are always better off listening for footsteps, reloads, jumps, defuses, plants and rappelling rather than hearing you say you hit Sova for 40.
Edit: Use text chat in 1vX’s
People say that having fun is the most important part, but when youre in the competitive queue, youre there to win as well. So dont come with that play-for-fun bullshit when it's affecting people's ELO. Play for your team and not for yourself
