I reached diamond from being a gold player last act and this act im trying to maintain the diamond elo and perhaps even climb it. For those immortals and high diamond players out there, any tips? (I have better aim than game sense)

Why do people always push when being defender instead of waiting for the enemies to come
I've experienced this a lot in the past few games I played where people literally pushed into the enemy team while being defender, instantly dying and shouting at me for not doing anything. Am I wrong here, or wouldn't it be better to wait...
