I’ve only been playing Valorant for about a week now, so I can safely say I am still very trash at the game. I’m starting to get a bit better but I still have a lot of room for improvement, something that the teammates I get paired up with are normally very unkind about.
Some days it really does feel like I’m pulling teeth rather than playing a game. My teammates will blame me for anything that goes wrong or complain about my performance, though for the later I can understand their frustrations. But there’s never any constructive criticism or tips- just insults. The enjoyment gets sucked out of it for me. I’m on edge the entire time and just want it over.
During my last round tonight, I gave my team a warning that I’m a pretty awful player and apologized in advance. Instantly though, they were quick to brush it off and say things like “No worries, my aim is garbage” or “Same here man let’s give it our best” and that made me feel eons better. Even when I screwed up, they were quick with the ‘nt’s and a pointer or two. When I managed my first kill I was instantly taken down after, but they were still there hyping it up.
They were awesome that entire game. That kind of attitude was a welcome breath of fresh air. To those who are kind to new players, I cannot stress how far that kindness goes. Your patience and positivity is very much appreciated. You save the game for newbies like me. :)

The Wholesome Valorant Experience... This is how I’m able to get teammates that always want to talk and cooperate and make the game a lot more enjoyable. I rarely have to deal with toxicity in Valorant and when I do, these methods help to turn their whole attitude around!
