Was inspired to do this series by all the love and support I got on a little doodle of Wingman as an Elden Ring boss, so here we are!
Some notes about the design:
-Cypher has glinstone/carian moon magic vibes to me, not entirely sure why. Though the background is super blurred so you can't see it, the foggy and mystical environment of Raya Lucaria seemed perfect for this piece.
-His face covering and hat are heavily inspired by the Crystal Sage, because I think the design fits Cypher's mystique really well.
-The idea of walking on ethereal wires is inspired by Lady Butterfly from Sekiro :)
-I feel like Cypher would be an extremely agile boss, using his wires to maneuver around the arena and grapple the player, almost like if Sekiro was a boss. (The concept of combining that with Lady Butterfly's wire travel was really cool in my head lol)
-Another inspiration I took from Crystal Sage was having his melee weapon be a simple dagger over an extravagant sword. Cypher is my main in Valorant, and to me, his character in game has always struck me as practical and swift in methodology. His signature gun is the Ghost, a small silenced pistol, nothing loud or spammy. A dagger seemed to fit that style of fighting, considering his stealthy nature.
-The eye symbol behind Cypher is his logo of sorts, representing his intel focused abilities in game. In this Soulsborne style game, however, I think it could act as some sort of glinstone magic catalyst.
-In typical Soulsborne fashion, I tried griming up his clothes a bit and giving him that good ol tarnished wear and tear. But in all honesty, Cypher's character is very clean and put together. It didn't really suit him. So instead, he'll be one of the few to have properly maintained garments.
