• It will not mirror League of Legends
• Looking at 3rd party organization to start community run tournaments
• Riot will sanction official events with organizations
They’ve established standards for tournament organizations to host events, featuring 3 tiers:
• Small: Community events; $10,000 prize pool max
• Medium: middle-tier businesses; esports orgs; $50,000 prize pool per event max
• Major: Events hosted by big esports leagues
Riot is looking setting up their own league; for now, will lean on community for events.
"Our primary focus early on will be forming partnerships with players, content creators, tournament organizers and developers -- unlocking them to help us to build the VALORANT ecosystem."
