Replays are great, we all want them for vod reviewing, rewatching that 5k we got a few days ago, but the main importance of a replay system for a game with a thriving esport is how are pros expected to really practice?
When I used to compete in counterstrike our team would scrim against other teams, good practice for seeing if strats work or not, but the most important part of that scrim was sitting down and rewatching the replay being able to see all POV’s on why a play worked or why it didn’t work, who needs to do something differently who needs to keep doing what they are doing etcetc..
Not having a replay system is handicapping the esport from really reaching the next level, it’s a feature that should have been in the game on launch as valorant was obviously made as a cs go competitor and made to be an esport, how is it we don’t have the core feature every esport in the world needs. This happened in league of legends too, they used to always say a replay system is in the works year after year after year till community members made one themselves and finally riot added it.
I know this gets brought up a lot sorry, but they really need to get their priority right this is a feature that imo is more important than new maps and characters being added to the game which are free updates for us.
