For those who don't know what Clash is, Clash in League is basically a mini-tournament where 5-stacks of players compete for trivial rewards in a tourny bracket setting every weekend or so.
I think Valorant really needs a variant of this 5-stack vs. 5-stack action. Why? Because solo que is just not how Valorant is meant to be played. A large majority of the fun in Valorant comes from teamwork, and the combined intellectual stimulation that comes with it.
In what is TRUE Valorant, there's no toxicity from strangers, no silent comms, no throwers, no inters. There's just a team of 5 that knows each other well playing another team of 5. They all have their personalities, their playstyles, their strategies, with teammates working together in sync to make their intellectual plays work. That's the Valorant/League/Overwatch/CSGO dream. Solo que has none of these key feature that make Valorant, well, Valorant.
Basically, solo que players are playing a game that has 60% of what makes it fun taken out.
With the addition of a Clash-like setting every weekend or so, I think it would be a very good change of pace for the players. Have them form some 5-stacks and play for some cool sprays or gun buddies. Sure, they still won't have the full 100% Valorant experience, since they won't have consistent opponents (which takes out the preparation portion of Valorant), but 90% is still massively better than the solo que experience. Anyone that has played Clash in League, whether with friends or randoms, can attest to how much more fun that setting truly is.
Also, I bet tons of people are willing to watch 5-stacks of their pro players duke it out on the weekends on stream.
Please, Riot, make a Clash-style mode. I think your playerbase deserves a taste of what Valorant is supposed to be, and what it could be.
