I wanted to make this post to help out anyone that might be having the same issue as me after the most recent patch in valorant 6.05. After this patch i was unable to update the game no matter what i tried. All previous bug fixes for downloads not starting had 0 effect. i had to completely uninstall valorant as well as uninstall vanguard which was much more difficult than expected. if you are having difficulty uninstalling vanguard, go to CMD, run as administrator, and type the following commands in succession:

sc delete vgc

sc delete vgk

and then locate your vanguard folder and delete it. after completely uninstalling both vanguard and valorant you can launch riot client or install valorant from their website and reinstall the game as well as vanguard. This solved my issue 100%. I could not find anything online to help with this specific issue so i wanted to share what i figured out to save others the potential hours it took me to be able to launch the game.
