Valorant Voicechat Misogyny: Something needs to be changed about this

I, myself, am a female Valorant player and it's become increasingly uncomfortable to queue ranked when 5/10 games there are multiple misogynistic comments made. I've noticed so many people on voice chat are so willing to belittle female players and discriminate against them. Sometimes it comes to a point where I don't even want to use voice chat because I know the minute I talk, someone will comment about the fact that I am a girl (and I know I'm not the only one).

For instance, yesterday I queued a game with four other men. Getting the first blood and two kills in the first round, they kept saying "oh Kill-Joy is a girl. I don't trust her. She won't do us good." Obviously, saying that triggered me even though I was carrying the team in that round. Even in the second round after getting 1 kill, they went "this b**** needs some d***". What was worse is that this guy solo queued, and the other guys joined in with him. After muting them and everything, they would team flash me and continuously shoot me to reveal my location. However, this is one example out of many.

I know it's common for people on voice chat to be discriminating against other players regardless of sex. But for female players, ranked games are so toxic for us. The constant misogynistic comments and the jokes surrounding a girl playing a game have to stop. We should be able to enjoy Valorant as much as guys do.

I don't get why guys find it so funny when girls play Valorant. I think actually it's pretty f cool that more and more girls are getting into video games, and I think guys should support that. I am not saying every guy who plays Valorant is like this, but there's quite a handful of them.

Usually, I report them immediately and tell the enemy team as well. But I think something has to be changed about this. Muting them and ignoring them doesn't solve the overarching problem--they will continue to do this to other girls who play. I think Valorant should implement a system where if a player is reported an x amount of times during a game, they get booted off (this is an idea, I don’t think it’s the best one). I don't see why we need to stay with such a toxic team and lose our ranks because of it.

I don't know what you guys think but I would love to hear your stories and what you think about this issue.
