I'm a 22 y/o female, and I play VALORANT almost daily, a few games a day since beta, and at least once a day someone will ask me if I'm a boy or a girl, except it always starts the same way with "I have a question" and I already know what it is, I don't even want to answer, so whoever it is just starts throwing, harassing me in voice chat, or insulting me saying I'm insecure. I try not to feed into it too much, I usually just mute people, most of the time I tell people not to talk to me if they're not going to give callouts, but the whole game turns into a toxic, team-killing shit show anyway. I play both unrated and comp and it's the same story. The thing is, I had never been asked this before playing this game. I play overwatch and previously csgo just as much and I never really got asked, and my boyfriend says it's because of how it sounds when people talk in valorant, but I just don't get it. I used to just answer "i'm a girl" and people would the harass me for sounding like a little boy??? Even when I mute people, a lot of them throw or try to team kill me, and I don't really know what I'm supposed to do to prevent any of these situations... do I just not talk in game anymore? Does this happen to anyone else? What do I even do?
