in my games, no one was pushing mid, they just commited to a site. But, some people in my games did push mid and my friend said if pushing mid was a dumb idea because you will die to an operator user. what is the real benefit of pushing mid and what should i do?

Is there a Big Smurfing problem in Valorant
I am Iron 1 and I can't believe that some of the players at my rank don't know how to shift walk or have any crosshair placement don't know that this is not a game where you are supposed to stop and shoot.
On the other hand in ranked games...
