What the hell is up with matchmaking in low ranks?

I have about 200-350 hours and I'm hardstuck Iron. I'll start by saying that I'm a bad player. My aim is shit, my game sense is wack but I try as much as possible to help and communicate with the team. The thing is I can't do that when I'm constantly teamed up with a 7 year old cod player who insists on rushing in as phoenix or making me (a brim main) go in first. Meanwhile the enemy team has people who actually have a headset and a working keyboard. I'm always matched with new players and against good ones. I don't play duelists bc I'm not confident with my entry fragging capabilities, but since the 7 year old phoenix doesn't want to listen and keeps rushing in before I can smoke, I can't really help him. There should be a way to filter people based on their gameplay and not just rank. Check their ADR or how many hours they have or something. I just wanna play a match where we all know how to play the game and it's not just a fucking steamroll. Oh and people in Iron, SMOKE ARE THE MOST ESSENTIAL THING TO A GAME LIKE VALORANT.
