I've tried several agents recently and as of now, I am focusing on this masked agent who's keen on spying on everyone. Feels good with his kit but right now I am wondering about this agent's prospect competitively, and thus I have several key questions that maybe some of you Cypher pros here can help.
- Does Sentinels have to lurk/camp? I feel that the meta seems to cater towards Initiators who can dive easily - it feels a bit unrewarding being a sentinel since our traps, once set in a location seems to be useless particularly when we have to rotate.
- How are Cypher's info-gathering skills relevant? Initiators such as Sova or Skye seem to outclass Cypher with their flexible kit, which can be used elsewhere whereas Cypher's purview is tied to a location.
- How to optimize his traps? I've seen his setups and traps from the internet but am still confused with its efficacy since there are times when my traps got destroyed by the enemy. It gets even more frustrating when it got wrecked by our allies' walls or mollies.
- When to use the ult? In my experience the moment I ult usually the opponent already went in different paths and there's no way for me to track them... tbh his ult feels underwhelming compared to others - no oomph.
- What of Cypher's prospect in the future? With the Advent of the new Initiator agent from Turkey, she seems to be like Breach + Skye in my take. She can "hunt" or gather info like Skye with the trail mechanic, while also give debuffs like Breach's. I am pessimistic how Cypher can keep up with this upcoming development.
Look forward for your answers!

Map diversity issue
Does anyone else think they're getting the same maps over and over again a bit more than usual recently? In the past 25-30 matches I've queued, I've got Icebox or Split in 20 of them. Anyone else facing a similar situation?
