Just curious on how valorant decides on how many ranks should be there? For example, what would be the thoughts behind
- how many levels should exist between a rank ( instead of Silver 1 to Silver 3, why not Silver 1 to Silver 5)
- how many ranks tiers should exist ( like the recently introduced Ascendant )
Is there a pre-defined mechanism/formula that every game adheres to?

Heavy Shields not entirely necessary?
I noticed that 9/10 times i usually die to >150 damage, so i figured to try out games where i only buy Light shields
