I never really cared about the battlepasses but I like the current one, but would like to wait and see what's in the next one first, and buy the next one if I like it more. Do we usually get to know the next battlepass before the current one ends? Or is it after?

Me and 3 of my friends queue'd Singapore 1 and ended up playing on Sydney server according to our teammate.
does anyone know anything about this issue?
P.S. props to our teammate for not getting mad and saying it's not our fault.
