Why Omen's Shadowstep still feels unreliable (sometimes that is).

In my experience the problems that Shadowstep had / still has:

  1. When looking towards a spot where along that path there are two or more possible locations, it will unreliably switch between them based on small, uncontrollable changes.
    1. See: Since theoreminegaming made the combat Omen post. Here is proof his tp is completely broken now. : VALORANT (reddit.com) (pre 4.04's changes)
    2. This is more a problem of intuitiveness, since mid fight you don't have time to hold your crosshair steady and make sure you go to the right spot.
    3. Still happens, just less often. Hard to fix without making shorter teleports unreliable instead.
  2. When selecting a spot, confirming, then moving the crosshair it may change the destination after the fact
    1. See: https://youtu.be/52xhJP_dHcU (post 4.04)
    2. I am unsure of where this problem happens (client side or server side), but its distinct from the first. Instead of the targeting being unwieldly, its unwanted changes after confirming the location. Again, you cannot calmly wait for the teleport to finish before moving your crosshair or looking around. In a fast paced game when you confirm something it needs to follow through consistently.
  3. The teleport targeting hitbox gets stuck on nearby walls
    1. This has (at least in my experience) stopped after the most recent attempts. Previously teleporting with a wall nearby would usually teleport you a few inches ahead instead of at your target due to collision changes (which were originally added to prevent players abusing sage walls to escape the map).
  4. Being placed infront of elevated areas instead of ontop of them
    1. This happens a lot if you are either really close, or at the edge of the range.
    2. If I can get a post 4.04 recording of this in my game or contributed, I will replace this line with a link.

Now, do not misunderstand. This post is not to say the ability is still broken, or unusable. Its probably in the most powerful and usable state its ever been. But it still has some polishing left, mostly in the targeting consistency (when you trigger it, you have to go where the targeter currently is not where it will be a moment later).

As for the Discussion part:

Do you feel there are other problems with the current rendition of Shadowstep? Abusable? Non-functional?

Do you have clips or recordings which demonstrate the above or similar instances, and are you comfortable sharing them via youtube or reddit posts (put them on your u/ page account, rather than r/Valorant to avoid any rule complications)?
