Hear me out. I'm an Ares main.

I use it ALL the time unless I can't use it because it's Spike Rush or I don't have enough credits. I hardly ever use Odin because I feel like it's a lot bulkier and pricier even if it does more damage. Since I've only been playing Ares for a long time, I think I'm pretty familiar with how to shoot using the gun and always aim down sights while using it and can usually control recoil very well.

I get kills in close encounters and can also take down snipers and mow down agents at long distances. If I get a lot of kills using an Ares that seems to bother people like you wouldn't believe (on the Mumbai servers at least) and a barrage of hate messages start to pour in from the enemy team (sometimes, even from my own team).

"You spammer", "You have no skill", "You only know how to spam", "Spamming in replication? Have some shame", "Have some dignity", "Noob spammer", F-ing spammer", etc.

These responses are so strange to me because if the gun was so easy to use and you could easily get kills with it why aren't those same people using it? It's not like they can't afford it since it's also one of the cheapest guns to get in the game and yet there's so much hate directed at people who use it.

I haven't yet noticed this with any other gun in the game (maybe shotgun users suffer from the same plight too?) and don't see people complaining when they die to an Operator or a Phantom or a Vandal. I might be way off about this and maybe this is only limited to Mumbai servers but I get a feeling that everyone expects you to play with the 'standard' weapons (I'm not really sure what they are) and seem to look down upon machine gun users as if they're ruining the game or cheating by using an Ares/Odin, which seems silly because if Riot didn't want you using an Ares/Odin, it wouldn't be in the game.

I'd love to know your thoughts about this and see if there's a way to make this better.

TL;DR If dying to a machine gun in the game bothers you, I'd like to know why
