Why does Split get removed from Comp and Casual?

With the new map Pearl coming and Split getting removed I am a little confused on the decisions made.

I totally understand, that for e-sports there are 7 maps necessary and the removal for me is fine. The problem I have is why is it needed to remove Split from Comp and Casual.

Split even got a little rework not to long ago and is in my opinion still a good map. Further why would you want to keep the Comp and Casual map pool also at 7 maps. Because there isn't something like map picking as of yet, so that would not be an issue to have 8 maps. And if you want to argue with the reason being that the pro players then occasionally would get practice on a not used map is a dumb argument in my eyes. The reason being scrims are the best way to practice for the teams, so they play anyways in customs where they can choose the map on which they want to play. Also an option to solve this problem would be to be able to select the maps you want to queue on.

As said I am a little confused why they didn't go with an other solution than just removing it and I hope split doesn't stay away for too long, since I am definitely not going to play spike rush just for split and I quite like the map.

Hope my English is not to bad and let me know what you think of the change.
