Ive noticed that if you go inactive and then win that placement game, you can rank up and gain more mmr then a normal ranked game

How am I supposed to climb in ranked when smurfs, toxicity and major skill disparity are in every single game I play?
1) If I wanted to play casually, I would play unrated. I genuinely want to get better at this game but mmr is whooping my ass
2) The last four ranked games I've had have included at least one plat/gold smurf in them. I'm just in a bronze/...

How did I get this damage with my vandal?
I was on A Heaven on Ascent, and hit this Raze from the front entrance. I was using a Vandal, and hit 2 headshots and 2 body shots, but only dealt 24 damage. How is this possible?
