We were in a Compet Match 4 to 5 then al of us crashed 1 of us stayed a bit longer and then some of the enemies crashed too. It became a 1v2 then eventually the 1 on our team also crashed. What happened?

I’m currently d1 and have been on 60 hz my entire career, because I didn’t think it’d make a difference. I noticed my monitor can do 144 hz, is it worth it to switch? Or does it not matter? Edit: okok, I've switched it, it's better.
