After releasing 180 purchasable skins, Valorant store still has 4 skin slots.
At the beginning, Valorant store had a couple skin bundles and 4 skin slots in the store. Today, not counting battle pass skins, agent contract skins and retired bundles, Valorant has 180 purchasable skins, but still has 4 skin slots in the store.
According to Riot Games developers, skins that appear in each individual store of each individual player are completely random, which means that all of you waiting for that one specific skin to appear in your store, have 2.22% chance for that skin to appear in your store next day. Since it is random, that chance does not go up or down, it is 2.22% every single day you are waiting for it.
There are a lot of people, counting those that make decisions like this, that still believe that this store model is somehow making Riot much more money than any other store model would. We can't definitely prove or disprove that, since it's the only store model we have had, we can only guess and calculate based on certain parameters in comparison with other/same/similar store models in other video games. This would also require Riot to make their Valorant income public. All of these questions are currently pointless to discuss.
What is up for discussion is, even with the exact same store model staying in Valorant forever, is the number of skins that are rotating in the store (4 / currently 2.22%). Was it supposed to be increased lots of bundle releases ago? Will eventually people waiting for one specific skin have less than 0.5% chance to spend their money on Valorant cosmetics? How does that make any sense and bring more profit? Should It be 4 right now? Will it be 4 when we have 300 purchasable skins rotating? Will the number stay the same forever?
What number of rotating skins is optimal for everyone to get the maximum amount of satisfaction and profit?
