An overall harbor buff idea

It’s no secret that Harbor is struggling in his current state. He has one of the lowest pick rates and win rates amongst every agent. I’m aware that riot does have an eye on the agent, and he likely will be made playable soon, but here is my take on a possible buff for him.

Cascade (C)

  • slow no longer effects teammates
  • when an enemy walks through casycade, they receive 1.5 seconds of paranoia, and the slow is increased to 1.5 seconds -able to rotate cascade like sage wall
  • wall is slightly wider

Cascade is already one of Harbor’s strongest abilities, and to overbuff it would likely sprout nothing but disaster for the game’s health. However, some of the biggest issues regarding the wave was it’s effect on teammates compared to its disregard of enemies, and the wall’s limitations. With these new changes, the wall stays relatively the same, but now is feared a bit more by those who think about crossing through.

Cove (Q) -Increase price to 400 credits

  • Increase health to 700
  • Cove uptime increased to 20 seconds (similar to brim smoke), decay lasts 10 seconds until fully broken

Cove is undoubtedly one of the most controversial abilities in Valorant, and is often the talk of discussion when a harbor buff is mentioned. One of the main issues with the ability as of now however, is it’s lack of bang for your buck. The cove once thrown lasted a measly amount of time and could be broken with a few shots from a vandal/phantom. By buffing both the health and uptime for the cove, this allows it perform much better as a smoke, rather than a paper wall. Although, to balance this out, the price would be slightly increased. NOTE - (I am fully aware of the argument made for cove to block mollies, but I for one think this decision would not be healthy for the game as a whole, but I’m not against a possible PBE test of the change.

High Tide (E)

  • same slow + paranoia as cascade
  • increase length of wall slightly
  • decrease cooldown to 35 seconds from 40

High tide is probably the most balanced ability in harbor’s Arsenal. It’s a simple wall that reliably gets the job done. The only change to propose would be the same slow + paranoia buff cascade received, and maybe a small cooldown.

Reckoning (X) -enemies footsteps much louder whilst in ultimate radius (like split sewers) -increase ultimate duration to 12 seconds from 9 -increase concuss duration to 2.5 seconds

Reckoning is far from being the weakest ultimate in the game, but it definitely is not the strongest either. Simple buffs such as duration increase and concuss duration increase would help the ultimate drastically. However one odd but powerful buff that could be done is to increase footstep audio to match the sound of water stomping whilst an enemy is in the radius of the ultimate. This would allow for a better chance of value from the ultimate, because as it stands, the ability feels like a worse breach ult.
