Compared to last season with the sweet karambit, and a few season before that with the katana, why is this bland knife the one they chose for this season?

Anyone ever realize why some games they top frag and others they bottom frag? (Diamond 2)
Crazy to me. Must be just the playstyle of the other team just happens to work in your favor or not? Want to see if anyone has any advice on this. For context I'm Diamond 2.
