This is more a response to the KD post on this subreddit.
Now, yes, duelists (mostly) aren't designed to actually get multikills. They are largely designed to be traded if needs be, like agents such as Raze, Neon and Phoenix (more on him later).
However, people wonder why duelists are designed to have higher KDs and seriously it's not what a lot of people in this subreddit say where they are just "designed to create space." It's about each one's individual kit.
Jett, Reyna and Yoru (sometimes) all have get out of jail free cards which genuinely allow them to get a high KD in comparison to most other agents. Yoru's might not always work though, given the time it takes to actually TP away.
Phoenix is an example of the higher KD but in a different way. Sure, whenever you enter site I understand why Phoenix would be traded just like the other duelists. However, if we're being realistic you aren't going to try entering site each round. And then, while Raze and Neon still don't really have an advantage, Phoenix has a great flash that he can use at any time throughout the round that will likely get him a kill. Sure he might die some random times not being traded, but that's still an unfair aspect of his kit.
So, in reality, duelists are fundamentally designed to take space, but a lot of their kits make it so that at least sometimes the fights are unfair and therefore some duelists should have a higher KD.
